PENNY’S READING NOOK

Penny has set up a cozy reading nook in a quiet corner of the house, “as far away from my home office as I can get’”, she  said to Jamie.

It’s got great big soft cushions and somehow feels like a very calm space. This is important for Penny because Jamie is always like a whirlwind when he rushes home from one big exciting thing or another.

If she’s out in the garden, Penny sometimes reads in the gazebo, but this new one is her favourite place to relax with a book. Sometimes she reads to me, but that’s tricky because I sometimes can’t follow the characters if it’s a complicated story, like this book that Jamie gave her for her birthday called The House of Gucci. When she read to me what was on the cover, I was surprised. It said, “A sensational story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed”. I never realised that fashion was such a dangerous job. From now on I’m going to do my best to protect Penny when she’s working. Yikes!

I love stories though, and I can tell that you do too, because you’re reading my story about my life with Jamie and Penny, Paul and Adriana.

I love the books and magazines that Adriana reads. Often they’re about food, and she talks to me about what she’s going to cook for dinner – like this one, “Thirteen lamb shank recipes for a cosy night on the couch”. Doesn’t that sound great? I don’t think I could manage thirteen lamb shanks though!!

Every Which Way But Home

Every Which Way But Home

Jolted from his cozy life when he accompanies his Boss, Ian, on an ill-fated trip, Barney is thrown into the unfamiliar world of Barranyup Dog Pound. Getting lost was his own fault – he's got nobody to blame but himself, as he admits. There's nothing worse for a dog than feeling sheepish!

Now that he's been incarcerated, the smart-arse young mutt must use his wits and his 'smarts' to survive this hostile environment.

Stunned and disappointed that Ian doesn't show to take him home, Barney's got to deal with his new situation. Can he learn to use the system under the guidance of Charlie, an ancient scarred Blue Heeler who takes him under his paw?

Or will it be "Bye, bye Cruel World" with Doc Soper's needle?

And then ... will there be life and love in a new home after the dog pound? Find out how it all happens in Every Which Way But Home, the humorous, yet touching, prequel to the Mutt to Megastar series.
